Formed in Scotland in 1942 from the elements of 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade. It was moved to France in July 1944 and assigned to the 2nd Canadian Corps. It has fighted in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany (Falaise, Chambois, Gent, Axel, Breda, Moerdijk, Wilhelmshaven).
