I [British] Corps

Lineage
1939 after being disbanded in 1919, re-formed in the UK
  Went overseas to France in Sept. 1939 as part of the British Expeditionery Force (BEF). Upon return to the UK transformed to I Corps District as part of the Home Forces. Overseas again in June 1944 as part of the invasion forces in Normandy, taking part in the whole of the Northwest Europe campaign.
21.05.1945 renamed I Corps District
1947 disbanded in Germany
